Sufiya Khatun is an Intern of Language and Skill Development unit and Former Intern of Campus Ambassador (CA) unit, UniV.
Sufiya Khatun, is an MSc student of the first batch of Coastal Studies and Disaster Management Department under University of Barishal. She has working experience as a research assistant on a project titled “Impact of Recent Cyclones in Southern Region of Bangladesh”.

She would like to mention that, she worked as a Regional Associate (Bay of Bengal) at Youth Climate Lab (YCL), which is a youth-based Canadian organization working on climate change, and how youth can play a vital role to lessen the impact of climate change in partnership with International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) since January 2021. She has finished report on Kuakata Sea beach hydro-morphology in 2018, on Shylet geomorphology in 2019 and on Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar hydro morphology, tourism and blue economy perspective in 2022. Additionally, she is one of the Jolkona under the Jolkona 1st cohort arranged by WASH and Water Aid Bangladesh.

Moreover, she has attended several training courses such as a short course on “Environment and Social Impact Assessment” under the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), BUET, “Gender and Social Equity in Climate Change Adaptation and Women Friendly Adaptation Technologies” as a component of SAKTEE Project under ICCCAD, the “Energy Course” and 3-day long ESIA training under Bangladesh Working Group on External Debt (BWGED) and 2 day-long training on “Land Use Policy and Protection of Agricultural Land” organized by Nagorik Uddyog in collaboration with Bangladesh Land Rights Network (BLRN).
Along with study, she tries to do research related to climate change, natural disasters management and try to find out sustainable solutions. As a nature lover, she used to aware of surrounding people not to pollute environment and always keep it net and clean as well as be environment friendly. She loves travelling and nature photography.

She likes gardening and pet bird species. She is seeking to get more experiences and gather more knowledge to do something better and effective for her disaster-prone motherland (Bangladesh).
